This is
actually a "young" social organization, since the group only started in
1992 .... and, anyone can join at age 55!
The founders
helped with the expansion of the Town Hall by using some of their grant
money to create the Community Room. The group meets there on the 2nd
Wednesday of every month to discuss issues affecting Hampton, watch a
movie, craft things, and plan trips. They travel to concerts, flower
shows, theater productions and holiday events. Occasionally they arrange
to have speakers or musicians visit.
They also
publish an annual calendar, including birthdays and anniversaries of
residents as well as dates of civic events.
Dues are only
$5.00 a year (over 80, no charge), so membership is quite affordable. If
you are at least 55 and want to join, please call Fred Curry at
455-9976.
