THE HAMPTON SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM

Hampton receives a grant of $107,000 annually through the Connecticut State Department of Education School Readiness program to provide quality services for children between the ages of three and five. Services include half or full day preschool, five days per week, on a sliding fee basis, parent education, and enrichment activities at the town library.

The towns of Hampton and Scotland participate in a joint School Readiness Council, which oversees the implementation of the grant in the two towns.  The School Readiness Council conducts annual surveys to determine family needs for early childhood education.

If you are interested in more information about the School Readiness program or the Hampton Elementary School preschool programs, please contact Sandra Frizzell, School Readiness Facilitator, at 455-9625, or Marsha Willhoit, Hampton Elementary School Superintendent/Principal at 455-9409.
