Hampton does not have a Board of Finance.
The Board of Selectmen working with the Treasurer is responsible for all
aspects of the Town's financial affairs. This includes payroll,
purchasing; preparation and monitoring of the annual operating and
capital budgets; establishment and monitoring of internal control
procedures; investment of Town funds; coordination of debt
financing; and coordinating the annual audit.
The town budgeting process begins in
February and continues into the spring, culminating in the presentation
of the budget at Town Meeting in May. The town fiscal year runs July 1
through June 30. |
