Governor's Council on Climate Change Stakeholder Events - July 2016

June 30th, 2016 General News

Tuesday, July 26th, 5:30-7:30 pm - 125 Putnam Pike, Dayville - NECCOG Conference Room

NECCOG is pleased to partner with the Governor’s Council on Climate Change (GC3) in coordinating a stakeholder engagement event on Tuesday, July 26th, 5:30-7:30pm (refreshments available at 5:00pm).

Participants at 9 satellite locations - including NECCOG in Dayville - will view the video broadcast of a presentation at the primary location in Hartford before engaging in locally-facilitated dialogue. Nearly 200 people across the state participated in the first round of dialogue in May to help shape the GC3’s effort to develop a plan to achieve the state’s mandated goal of an 80% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions below 2001 levels by the year 2050.

Since the state’s climate action strategy will address everything from transportation policies to energy production and storage, it will have an impact on towns in our region, and we encourage you to have at least one town official participate in the stakeholder process. We also ask that you share this information with other local groups who may have an interest in this concern.

Online registration and further details are available at: bit.ly/GC3-July26. For more information, you may contact GC3 member John Humphries at john.humphries1664@gmail.com or 860-216-7972. Please contact John Filchak, NECCOG Executive Director for NECCOG location information/questions.
