CT State law requires that all dog owners license their dogs.
If you live in
Hampton and have a dog that is 6-months of age or older, or if you
have a dog that is new to town, you are responsible for obtaining a
license for the dog.
To avoid payment
of a penalty, please have such dogs licensed at the Town Clerk's
office on or before June 30, 2008.
A late penalty
fee will be incurred as of July first; and the fee will increase the
first of every month, thereafter.
To register your dog, please come to
Town Hall
at 164 Main
St., Hampton, CT during regular
business hours: Tuesdays and Thursdays 9am-4pm and Thursday evenings
6-8pm.
The fee to
license a male or female dog is $19.00. The fee to license a
neutered male or a spayed female dog is $8.00. To be given the
lower fee, please include the neutering or spaying certificate from
the vet if you have not previously provided this to the Hampton Town
Clerk.
Whether you are
licensing a puppy or renewing a license, please remember to include
a current rabies vaccination certificate from the vet.
Mail order licenses will be accepted
if they include:
-
the necessary fee
-
a self-addressed, stamped envelope
-
owner's name, address and phone
number
-
dog's name, age, color, breed
-
note whether the animal is a
neutered male, unneutered male, spayed female or unspayed female
-
current rabies vaccination
certificate
-
certificate of neutering or
spaying, if appropriate, for dogs not licensed in Hampton in the
last year.
Please address orders to: Town Clerk,
Town of Hampton, PO Box 143, Hampton, CT 06247.
